HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR NEW KITTEN Kitten Care

Golden Persian Kitten

KITTEN CONTRACT

Thank you for choosing OhioPurr Cattery to purchase your new kitten. We take pride in providing healthy and well socialized kittens, so you will have a family pet for you and your family to enjoy for many years.

All of our kittens are sold as pets only unless previous arrangements have been for breeding rights with a reputable breeder; this is considered on a case by case basis.

SELLER OBLIGATIONS

The Seller, OhioPurr Cattery, provides a 72-hour limited health warranty that the above kitten/cat is in good health and is free from upper respiratory infections, fleas, worms, and ringworm. The Seller also warranties that the kitten is free of the feline leukemia virus (FeLV), feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV), and Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) at the time of purchase.

We offer a 1-year genetic health guarantee, it includes coverage of all genetic defects that may have inherited. Our genetic health guarantee does not cover any communicable diseases, internal and/or external parasites, or injuries.

All our cats have been DNA tested for 50 different genetic health variants or disorders including PKD. FeLV, and FIV tests have also been done to ensure our cats/kittens are free from genetic defects and diseases. All our kittens have been examined by a licensed veterinarian. Our kittens are guaranteed to be of sound health at the time of adoption. If the kitten described above dies within a year of the date of purchase due to a congenital or hereditary defect, the Seller will replace the cat with a cat/kitten of similar or better quality or refund all or part of the purchase price, at the discretion of the Seller. To determine if the cat's death has been caused by a congenital or hereditary defect, the Seller must receive proof of the defect in the form of a complete necropsy report, completed by a licensed veterinarian and performed at the Buyer's expense.

Buyer has the right, at their own expense, to take the kitten to a licensed veterinarian for a health checkup within three (3) days of the purchase date so that there can be no question of the kitten’s health at the time of sale.

Veterinarian fees are the responsibility of the Buyer and not OhioPurr Cattery.

The Seller will not be held liable for any veterinary or health care costs occurring while the cat is in possession of the Buyer.

The Seller will have completed age-appropriate vaccinations and dewormings prior to leaving OhioPurr. A copy of the kitten's health record will be given to the buyer at the time of purchase.

If this kitten/cat is found to have been neglected by the buyer, in ill health, or if the Buyer does not abide by the terms of this contract, the Buyer will surrender said cat/kitten to Seller unconditionally.

The Seller will provide the Buyer a copy of the kitten's parents pedigree and copies of parents testing at the time of purchase.

All our kittens are sold as pets and not for breeding. The Seller will provide the Buyer with registration papers for the TICA and/or CFA for their kitten upon receipt of proof of spay/neuter of the kitten purchased.

BUYER OBLIGATIONS

The Buyer must notify the Seller of any claim under the warranty immediately. Any necessary treatment or other expenses must be authorized by the Seller prior to treatment.

The Buyer agrees to provide the kitten/cat with a clean, pleasant environment, conducive to good health and with adequate space for exercise. At least one litter box will be provided for each kitten/cat in the household and will be cleaned daily. The kitten/cat will not be caged unless absolutely necessary for the cat’s safety or health.

The Buyer agrees to provide the kitten/cat with proper nutrition in the form of a premium food. We feed and recommend Royal Canin. Fresh water will be provided daily.

The Buyer agrees to provide the kitten/cat with proper veterinarian care, vaccines, and companionship. Any significant health conditions during the cat's lifetime shall be reported to the Seller.

The Buyer agrees the kitten/cat will only live indoors and will not let the cat roam outdoors. Allowing the kitten/cat to roam outdoors puts them at risk of harm, exposes them to diseases which may cause medical issues or even death. Allowing your kitten/cat outside is a violation of this contract and renders this contract void.

The Buyer agrees to spay/neuter their kitten prior to the kitten's first birthday and provide this information to the Seller for disbursement of kitten’s CFA and/or TICA registration paperwork.
The Buyer is responsible for the cost of spaying/neutering their kitten.

Registration of kitten/cat is the responsibility of the buyer if buyer chooses to register. Fees for registration to associations are the responsibility of the buyer.

LONG-TERM HEALTH CARE AND/OR LEGAL PROCEEDINGS

The Seller's maximum liability to the Buyer for all losses, claims, damages, or liability of any kind shall be limited to the amount paid by the Buyer to the Seller under this agreement. Any expenses for health care requested of the Seller by the Buyer will be paid at the discretion of the Seller. If Buyer fails to comply with any aspect of this agreement, the Buyer forfeits any rights the Buyer may otherwise have.

If legal proceedings become necessary, the Buyer agrees that all legal and/or court procedures take place in the county which the seller resides.

This contract is designed to protect the buyer, the seller, and the welfare of the kitten/cat.
